His Kingdom Come Is His Will

The Lord’s instruction on how to Pray, Declares His Kingdom Come

Jesus taught his disciples how to pray. Today many people recite the Lord’s prayer either at the beginning, during or end of spiritual activities or services. The Lord’s prayer, of course, is not used as a recited prayer. Jesus wanted his disciples to learn not to recite the prayers, but learn to change their mindsets and attitudes of how to pray. When we pray and declare His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is heaven, we remind ourselves that we are citizens of heaven, living on earth. Jesus wants us to act like citizens of heaven, living a life on earth with the power and authority of heaven on earth.

Prayer: Father Lord, let your kingdom come to my life, to my family, to my workplace, to my ministry, your will be done in my life, my family, my workplace and my ministry powerfully as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Is Your Great Reward

God Is Your Great Reward

In Genesis 13, we see this verse spoken to Abram from God. This verse refers to the moment when Abram fought a war and returned from defeating King Chedorlaomer. Abram was a shepherd, not a warrior. So Abram was afraid. He was also disappointed by God’s delaying to fulfill what God had promised. He had yet seen the promised land and he had yet seen the son God has promised. God knew his disappointments and revealed himself to Abram so as to comfort and empower him. God always takes initiative to comfort and encourage you when you are disappointed by his delaying to answer your prayers. God always wants to greatly reward you. Like God said to Abram, God is his shield and his great reward. What kind of reward do you want from God? God himself or other material rewards?

Prayer: Dear Father Lord, we want more of you. We need you more, more than yesterday and more than before. We want you to be our great reward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Kingdom Of Heaven is yours

God sent Isaiah to bring good news to those who are poor in spirit (Isaiah 61:1). This might not be understood by the world. When you are rich, people will say you are so blessed. In the same way, when you are rich in spirit, you are blessed. But God said that Blessed are the poor not the rich in spirit. God will come to those who are afflicted. When our hearts are humble and hungry for Him, His kingdom will come to us now because our hearts are longing for His will to be done on earth as we want to live a lifestyle of His kingdom on earth. When we obey His sovereignty, we will inherit His Kingdom on earth here and now.

Prayer: Dear Father Lord, our hearts are longing for you and your kingdom. We pray that your kingdom comes and reigns in our lives on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
